Bike

This is Bruce’s current stede, a 2011 Suzuki GSX-R 1000. A beast of a bike designed to rip up the race tracks and fast open tarmac roads. Not necessarily most peoples first choice to tackle the Saharan or Namibian deserts, the jungle mud baths of West Africa, rocks and bogs of Mongolia, or any kind of serious mileage. But Bruce isn’t ‘most’ people!

Know affectionately as ‘the beast’, as of May 2013, she has almost 40,000 miles on the clock and is still running strong. After breaking the rear sub-frame in the Sahara Desert during the first attempt in Oct 2012, I’m currently strengthening the replacement part and looking at lightening my luggage.

The only non OE parts on the bike are:

• K&N Air Filter
• Pipewerx Exhaust
